THANKS to everyone for coming, the bands and DJs for playing,
and the Underground for hosting — we had a blast!!! The party was
a huge success all around. Sorry if you missed the surprise repeat
SCARED OF CHAKA gig at 2:30am on Saturday night… now you know
to be ready for surprises the next time I throw a big party! And there
definitely will be a next time, this was too fun to do just once.
Please post links to your photos and videos somewhere on this page!
Thanks to Captain America from ‘burque for posting these great
photos and videos!
Here’s my favorite:
I’ll post my video of that surprise SOC gig as soon as I find the time to
edit it…
Zac Damon (of BIG IN JAPAN / ZOINKS! / SCREECHING WEASEL / etc)
has been helping out a ton getting ready for the party, and has volunteered
to MC… yeah - he’ll be the presenter, that guy on stage introducing the bands
and crackin’ silly jokes.
But he doesn’t know who the surprise band is, so don’t ask him…
Sorry kids, but DJ Tim Warren ain’t gonna make it to the gig –
he woke up a few mornings ago with an ear infection and his
doctor advises against flying — his eardrums could burst in
the high altitude. Bummer, I was looking forward to gettin’
my eardrums burst during his DJ set…
In his place DJ Pete Slovenly (Sticker Guy!) will be spinning
records alongside DJette Dulcinea.
Los Angeles rock gods return to Reno, for the first time since their legendary performance in the Zephyr Lounge with Dungeon Nun two years ago. Frontman Norman really knows how to work the crowd, and here he is telling it like it is, along with some epic live footage from their concert:
Based on the number of tickets we’ve sold since we put them on sale just ten days ago, it’s looking like the event will sell out — unless we move it to a bigger venue. I’ve got until this Sunday, March 2nd to make a final decision. So if you are planning to come, please buy your tickets right away
If you’re hoping to come, or planning to come, buy your tickets before this Sunday — afterwards it may be too late. The number of tickets sold by Sunday morning will definitely influence my final decision. If I know that more people are coming than will fit into the venues we have booked, I will move the event to a larger venue. We don’t want anyone to be left out in the cold…
Speaking of, a lot of you have been asking about hotels. We haven’t given any advice on hotels yet because of the possibility of a venue change. Until the venue is set into stone, our best advice is to wait until it is. Check back here next week for hotel information and our recommendations. There will be deals offered at select hotels.
Oh yeah, and we’re very close to confirming another band on the bill — and it’s another reunion! Reno’s SCURVY BASTARDS
Sacramento’s TROUBLEMAKERS have been added to the bill!!
Coincidentally, they also played their first gig in March of 1993 and are also celebrating their 15 year anniversary.
